Man Arrested After Deadly Stabbing at Polish Abbey

One person has died and at least four others were injured following a stabbing incident on the grounds of a Benedictine abbey in Jaroslaw, Poland. A 31-year-old Ukrainian citizen has been taken into custody in connection with the attack, according to a police statement.

The incident occurred at a Benedictine Sisters monastery located within the abbey's complex. The motives behind the stabbing remain unclear, and authorities are currently investigating.

Local media reported that among the casualties were individuals identified as Father Stanisław, who succumbed to his injuries, and Father Marek, who is in serious condition. Sister Barbara Dendor of the abbey described the scene as one of "total panic" when she arrived.

Police confirmed their presence at the scene and stated that an investigation into the attack is underway.
