A strong earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.7 struck central Japan early Sunday, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency. Japanese media reported that dozens of people were injured.
The earthquake affected a wide area near Aichi Prefecture. Smaller aftershocks have followed the initial tremor.
