Two sex workers who spent the final day with Liam Payne in Buenos Aires have provided sworn witness statements detailing the One Direction star's last hours. The accounts, obtained by The Mail on Sunday, shed light on Payne's cocaine and whisky binge and his emotional fragility before his death on October 16, 2024.

Aldana Serrano and Lucila Goitea, both identified as key witnesses, gave four-page statements to investigators just hours after Payne's fatal 46-foot fall from his hotel balcony. A source close to the case described their statements as "invaluable in piecing together what really happened to Liam," noting they offer the closest account to the truth amid speculation surrounding his death.

Payne, 31, arrived in Buenos Aires to renew his U.S. visa and attend a concert. His girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, and a friend, Roger Nores, stated he was sober and drug-free during the initial part of his trip. However, after Cassidy and Nores departed, Payne reportedly stayed alone and began using drugs and alcohol again. Prior to checking into the CasaSur Palermo hotel, reports indicated he had been asked to leave another hotel for trashing his room.

The Day of Payne's Death

According to Serrano and Goitea, Payne contacted Serrano via WhatsApp on the morning of October 16, 2024, after finding her profile on an escort site. He reportedly sent her a video of himself singing and pictures taken in bed before they arrived.

The two women arrived at the CasaSur Palermo hotel around 11:30 a.m. They reported that Payne was alone, ordered champagne, and consumed two bottles of Johnnie Walker Black Label whisky. They also observed him using what appeared to be crystal meth with pieces of tinfoil and stated he asked them to procure drugs, which they could not fulfill. Both women reported having consensual sex with Payne once, with protection.

Goitea described the hotel room as a "mess" with "tinfoil everywhere with traces of drugs." She also noted clothes strewn about and that Payne smelled of alcohol. During their time there, Payne reportedly sang some of his own songs for them before his mood shifted.

When the women asked for their promised $5,000 payment, Payne offered his £30,000 gold Rolex. After they refused the watch, he reportedly smashed it, stating he could easily get ten more. He then punched and broke a television in the room, seemingly without concern for the cost.

Payne's behavior became increasingly erratic. He repeatedly asked for cocaine, which he had apparently run out of. The women stated he did not use drugs in front of them but continued to drink whisky. Their statements indicate Payne kicked them out of the room, but then followed them to the lobby in his inebriated state.

Erratic Behavior and Final Moments

At the front desk, hotel staff offered the women $300, which they refused, referencing Payne's earlier offer of $5,000. While waiting in the lobby, Payne paced and frequently went between the lobby and his room. Serrano recalled Payne telling her that money did not make him happy and that he had a son.

Later, after returning to the hotel, Goitea realized she had left personal items in Payne's room. When he came downstairs to retrieve them, he reportedly apologized to Serrano on his knees, begging them to stay. Both women stated he pleaded with them not to leave. They departed the hotel shortly before 4 p.m.

CCTV footage shows that soon after the women left, Roger Nores arrived and spoke with Payne in the lobby. Payne continued to exhibit erratic behavior. One guest reportedly heard him shout, "I used to be in a boy band that's why I'm so f***** up!" Another witness saw him become upset with his laptop and throw it on the floor.

At approximately 4:54 p.m., CCTV captured Payne being carried by three hotel staff members across the lobby, appearing to be unconscious or convulsing, and taken back to his room. Guests later reported hearing loud noises from Room 310. A receptionist contacted emergency services, expressing concern for the guest's well-being.

Liam Payne fell to his death at 5:07 p.m. Investigators concluded that his impaired state from a combination of drugs and alcohol likely rendered him semi-conscious or unconscious at the time of the fall. Toxicology reports confirmed the presence of cocaine, alcohol, and the sedative Klonopin in his system.

The investigation into his death is ongoing. Two men, Braian Paiz and Ezequiel Pereyra, have been charged with supplying the drugs that led to Payne's death. They deny the charges, and prosecutors are reportedly in talks for potential plea deals.

A UK inquest into Payne's death is pending the outcome of the Argentinian investigation. His legacy continues through his son, Bear, who is being raised away from the public eye.
