Journalist Crowned King of Uganda's Tooro Kingdom Amid Succession Dispute

Edward Rukidi Kijanangoma, a journalist by profession, has been crowned the 14th king, Omukama Edward Rukidi Nyabongo I, of the Tooro Kingdom in western Uganda. The coronation ceremony was attended by Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni.

His ascension to the throne comes after the death of the previous monarch, King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV. The succession has been met with dispute, raising questions about the rightful heir to the Tooro throne.
