Influencer and social media personality Lolita Callender, known professionally as Lola Doll, is in critical condition after being shot multiple times outside her home in Georgetown, Guyana, police said.

The Guyana Police Force said the incident occurred at about 11:35 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6, in front of Callender's residence at Texas Square, East Ruimveldt. Callender, 33, sustained gunshot wounds to her neck, face, hands and right leg and was receiving care at Georgetown Public Hospital, where she remained in critical condition, the police said.

Police said preliminary information indicates Callender was seated in her motor car when she was shot. Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage from the area and pursuing leads. In a Facebook statement the force urged anyone who witnessed the incident or has information to come forward, saying persons can also share information anonymously by calling 911 or the nearest police station.

Footage released to media showed a lone man approaching Callender's white Mercedes-Benz before gunfire, according to local reports. The police statement also indicated the suspect may have been on a motorcycle. Authorities announced an arrest on Sunday, saying the individual is in custody and is "assisting with the investigation."

Callender's brother told the Stabroek News he heard gunshots, ran outside and found her slumped in the car. "I was inside at home when I hear gunshots and run out to see what was, only to see me sister lying in she car and blood, if you see blood, pouring out," he said. "We rushed her here…I can't tell you where all she was shot but she was shot in like her face, her side, I don't know where else…blood, so much blood everywhere. She lost a lot of blood but she is a fighter."

Callender rose to prominence on social media for provocative content and music videos. Local outlets and social media posts have circulated video of the shooting and updates on her condition, prompting public calls for information and for authorities to ensure a thorough investigation.

The Guyana Police Force said investigations are ongoing and that police ranks are actively pursuing the suspect. No charge information was released. The force asked witnesses and anyone with relevant footage or information to contact investigators as they continue to review CCTV and other evidence related to the case.
