Indian Pageant Queen Nidhi Tiwari Dies at 30 After Posting About Self-Love
Authorities are investigating the death of Nidhi Tiwari, a former Miss Pretty India winner with over 1.6 million followers, who was found unresponsive hours after posting a message about self-acceptance.
Nidhi Tiwari, an Indian influencer and former Miss Pretty India pageant winner, has died at the age of 30. She was found unresponsive in her room on Sunday and authorities are investigating her death, which is being treated as a suicide, according to Indian outlet Hari Bhoomi.
Just hours before her death, Tiwari, who had 1.6 million followers online, reportedly had an argument with an engineer from Punjab whom she had met while working at a hotel. She had been communicating with the individual for two and a half years. Following the argument, she reportedly locked herself in her room in her Singrauli home and refused to eat, despite pleas from her family. She was pronounced dead at a hospital the following day.
Amid the conflict, Tiwari posted a cryptic message on social media about self-love. "No one has fulfilled this incomplete heart," she wrote. "I have [fulfilled] it with myself. [This] is why you should love yourself." The post has since been flooded with tributes from her followers.
Investigators are examining the content creator's social media activity and a note was reportedly found at the scene. Tiwari, who aspired to be an actor and model, won the Miss Pretty India pageant title in 2024. Her social media content frequently featured dance reels.
One of her final posts included a video of herself dancing to a Hindi song that uses metaphors of a drifting boat to describe a lover. Accompanying the video was a picture of Tiwari making a heart shape with her hands.
