Hull City Player Involved in Vehicle Crash Near Training Ground

Humberside Police responded to a single-vehicle crash involving Hull City player Lucas Gourna-Douath at approximately 8:30 a.m. GMT. The incident occurred near the team's training ground.

This event marks the second time in recent months that a Hull City player has been involved in a crash on the same road. In September, teammate Sorba Thomas was involved in a similar incident.

Residents living near the site of the crash have expressed ongoing concerns about road safety. Paul Nickerson, who lives on the affected road, recounted hearing the noise of the crash and noted how close it was to a potential tragedy. "If it had happened a minute before, my wife was walking down the road with our kids taking them to school. So, it's really worrying," he said.

Tracey Evans, a resident for 19 years, stated that she has been requesting a reduction in the speed limit on the road for about a decade. "At that time, children are coming, going to school, the parents are coming back," she explained, emphasizing the need for preventative measures to ensure future safety.

Emergency services were called to the scene, and local authorities are investigating the circumstances of the crash. The road has been the subject of repeated calls for traffic calming measures due to perceived high speeds.
