Houthi Attack on Riyadh Airport Kills 13, Injures Over 300
Shocking video captures the moment Houthi rebels bombed Saudi Arabia's King Khalid International Airport, with the group claiming responsibility and threatening further attacks.
Thirteen people were killed and over 300 injured in a Houthi attack on Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport on Saturday. New surveillance footage released Monday shows the moment the explosion occurred inside the terminal, sending travelers scrambling for cover amidst smoke and fire. The Iran-backed Houthis have claimed responsibility for the attack and have threatened additional strikes.
The footage, released by Saudi Arabia's Media Ministry, shows unsuspecting travelers inside the airport terminal when a sudden, large explosion rocks the area. Passengers rushed to evacuate as smoke filled the building and flames became visible. Airport workers were seen taking cover under desks as debris fell from the ceiling.
King Khalid International Airport has been targeted multiple times in the past five days. Saturday's missile strike was the deadliest attack on a Gulf Arab nation since the Iran war began. A projectile also struck the same passenger terminal on Sunday. The airport has been closed since Saturday's attack.
