An employee at the Moon Palace The Grand Punta Cana resort in the Dominican Republic went on a destructive spree, attacking guests and staff and damaging hotel property, according to videos circulating on social media. The incidents reportedly occurred on a Thursday, though the exact date has not been specified.
Footage shows the unidentified female worker striking a male guest with a plate at a resort café following an apparent dispute. As the guest and his companion attempted to leave, the employee continued to hurl objects, including what appeared to be a large wooden kitchen accessory, narrowly missing the man.
During the altercation, the employee also confronted a security guard, shouting obscenities. She then overturned a large coffee brewer, nearly pushed blenders off a counter, and knocked down an oven. Another video circulating online captured the employee appearing to grab a knife while throwing items behind the counter, as a person recording the scene urged her to stop.
The Palace Company, which operates the resort, issued a statement deploring the confrontation and emphasizing its commitment to the safety and well-being of both tourists and workers. The Moon Palace The Grand Punta Cana, described as the Caribbean's largest all-inclusive resort, opened on June 1 and features 2,171 suites, swim-up pools, and an 18-hole golf course. Room rates for the last two weeks of July ranged from $963 to $1,190 per night.
