Four Killed in Helicopter Crash in Quebec
An aircraft went down shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Saturday in Sainte-Brigide-d’Iberville.
Four individuals died Saturday when a helicopter crashed and subsequently caught fire in Quebec's Montérégie region, according to authorities.
The aircraft experienced difficulties before it went down in the Rang des Écossais sector of Sainte-Brigide-d’Iberville shortly after 2:30 p.m. Emergency crews, including firefighters, were dispatched to the scene.
Sûreté du Québec Sgt. Audrey-Anne Bilodeau confirmed to Agence QMI that the four occupants of the helicopter perished in the crash. The victims had not been publicly identified as of Saturday afternoon.
Details regarding the helicopter's make, model, registration, or operator were not immediately available, nor was the flight's origin or intended destination. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has been notified of the incident. The cause of the crash has not yet been determined.
