Four Britons removed from easyJet flight for vaping

Four British nationals were removed from an easyJet flight from Larnaca, Cyprus, to Birmingham by police for refusing to stop vaping.

The incident occurred on September 16, causing a delay of over 20 minutes for other passengers.

Footage captured by a fellow passenger shows a police officer speaking with the group, who had allegedly ignored multiple requests from cabin crew to cease vaping throughout the five-hour journey. The officer is heard saying, "Do you guys want to get off please?" and "Just go that way. We'll have a chat with you outside."

The group, consisting of three women and one man, were subsequently led off the plane. One passenger, Annalise Galstaun, described the situation as frustrating, noting that some children on board were crying due to the delay. She stated that the group had been vaping discreetly, hiding their devices between their legs, despite being warned multiple times.

An easyJet spokesperson confirmed the incident, stating that flight EZY6610 was met by police due to the passengers' disruptive behavior. "Our cabin crew are trained to assess all situations and to act quickly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of the flight and other customers is not compromised at any time," the spokesperson said. "We take these incidents seriously and do not tolerate disruptive behaviour onboard. The safety and wellbeing of our customers and crew is always easyJet's highest priority."

West Midlands Police confirmed they responded to a complaint of a disruptive passenger and assisted airline staff in requesting the individuals to leave the aircraft.
