New aerial photographs illustrate the catastrophic impact of a Learjet 60 crash in Florida's Palm Beach County, showing a significant crater on the highway and widespread debris scattered across the area.
The plane, valued at $2 million, nosedived near a mobile home park, striking the road with such force that it created a deep crater and appeared to sever an underlying water main. The impact disintegrated the aircraft, leaving few large pieces of debris visible at the scene. Massive chunks of asphalt were displaced by the force of the crash.
All nine individuals aboard the Learjet perished in the incident, which occurred on Sunday. The co-pilot has been identified as 20-year-old Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras, a native of Palm Beach County.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
