American fitness influencer Connor Murphy, 32, was found dead by drowning in a lake in Thailand on July 7. Following his death, police investigating the incident discovered a disturbing scene at the luxury rental home he occupied with his girlfriend, Bee.

Video obtained by Viral Press shows the high-end home, located in Samut Prakan province, splattered with a black tar-like substance across appliances, walls, and ceilings. The property was also filled with overflowing trash and heavily stained couches. The kitchen contained scattered pots, tools, bowls, and covered appliances, with a kettle and blender coated in the black substance. A cardboard box was filled with bottles, cans, and trash.

Police were called to the residence after receiving reports of a man behaving erratically. Witnesses told Khaosod English that Murphy swam in a nearby lake for several minutes before appearing to lose strength. The lake was reportedly over 10 meters (approximately 33 feet) deep, and witnesses did not attempt to enter the water. Divers located Murphy approximately 20 meters from the shore after a 30-minute search.

An initial examination of Murphy's body by police found no visible signs of assault. His body was sent for a post-mortem examination, with full autopsy and toxicology findings pending.

Murphy and his girlfriend had been renting the villa under a three-month agreement. Bee told police that the damage to the property appeared to have occurred overnight while she was asleep in another room.

Fitness influencer and filthy house

Murphy had amassed over 2.7 million followers across YouTube and Instagram, where he shared bodybuilding and fitness content. He identified as part of the "looksmaxxing" community, a subculture focused on improving physical appearance. His social media activity last appears to have been updated on July 3, when he posted a video from inside a luxury home. The investigation into his death and the condition of the rental property is ongoing.
