Firefighters in Caracas, Venezuela, have rescued a dog alive from the rubble following two devastating earthquakes. A video of the rescue, shared by the Caracas Fire Department, captured the moment a unit heard a bark after concluding a search-and-rescue mission.

The firefighters located the dog, which was pinned under a metal bar, and worked to extract it safely. The footage shows a firefighter offering the trapped animal water. "Let’s go man, we’re going to get you out," one rescuer can be heard saying in the video posted Thursday. The crew cleared debris by hand before successfully freeing the dog.

The Caracas Fire Department stated that the discovery served as a symbol of hope for those at the disaster site. "Our emergency teams continue to work tirelessly on search and rescue efforts, reaffirming our absolute commitment to saving lives," the department said in a social media post. "We press on, with strength and solidarity!"

Onlookers applauded the first responders' dedication as they worked around the clock. The earthquakes have stretched the fire department's resources thin as they continue to search for survivors. The rescue highlights the value placed on every life during the ongoing recovery efforts.
