Eurostar has issued a 'do not travel' warning for services to Amsterdam and Rotterdam due to a fire that damaged railway infrastructure near Rotterdam. The international rail operator stated that direct trains between the UK and the Netherlands will be suspended up to and including July 2, 2026, impacting journeys to both Dutch cities.

Trains on this route are currently operating between London and Brussels only. A limited number of services will run between France/Belgium and Amsterdam, but these will not stop at Schiphol or Rotterdam. These alternative routes will significantly increase journey times and reduce seat availability.

A statement from Eurostar advised passengers to postpone or cancel their travel plans where possible. Affected travelers have the option to exchange their bookings for free for a different date or time. Alternatively, passengers can cancel their booking to receive an e-voucher valid for 12 months or a full refund. Passengers have a three-month window to decide on their preferred option.

Affected passengers can rebook, get a voucher for a future trip or receive a refund

This disruption follows recent travel chaos caused by heatwaves. On June 25, Eurostar canceled four trains between London St Pancras and Paris Gare du Nord due to expected adverse weather conditions. Transport for London also advised customers to consider the necessity of their journeys during that period.
