An entrepreneur has come forward detailing an alleged assault at a luxury French hotel, claiming his partner attacked him while he slept. Callum Forbes stated that he and his partner, David Cao, had a conversation about separating earlier on the day of the alleged incident.
Forbes recounted that he had raised the issue of ending their three-and-a-half-year relationship, but believed they had reached an agreement. "We had a civil conversation earlier that day, I had raised the issue of separating but I thought we were good," Forbes told the Daily Telegraph.
The couple had booked a night at the Château de Perreux boutique hotel on July 28, paying approximately $500 for a room. Their plans included traveling to Amsterdam the following day for the WorldPride festival, an event supported by Cao's employer, ING.
Forbes described waking up to the alleged attack, feeling blows to the side of his head and seeing blood. He reported sustaining burns to his torso and arms, second-degree burns to his face, and a burst eardrum. "It was horrific, my mum is with me at the hospital, I had to wait 36 hours to call her for help, because he had taken my phone and iPad and passport, I couldn't contact anyone," Forbes said.
He expressed concern about potential disfigurement and the possibility of needing skin grafts, though he was informed in France that the scarring might heal. Forbes stated his primary wish is to return home to recover from what he described as an ordeal.
