Fire crews have successfully extinguished a large grassfire that ignited on Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh on Sunday evening. Plumes of white smoke were visible from as far away as Fife after the blaze began below Salisbury Crags around 6:40 p.m.

Six fire engines were dispatched to combat the flames, with firefighters working through the night to douse the fire and address any remaining hotspots. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) reported no casualties. Crews have since left the scene.

Police Scotland confirmed that Queen's Drive, the road encircling the Holyrood Park hills, has been reopened. The fire is not being treated as suspicious.
