Rescue efforts are continuing in Venezuela after twin earthquakes struck the country, with international teams now assisting in the search for survivors. The coastal state of La Guaira is among the areas most severely affected.
Rescuers are working to find people trapped beneath rubble, and fears remain that the death toll could rise as operations progress. Natacha Díaz, a resident of La Guaira, described to the BBC how her two daughters, aged 22 and 23, are trapped in a shopping center where they worked. She shared a photograph of them on her mobile phone, expressing her distress and desire for their safe return.
International rescue teams, equipped with sniffer dogs, have arrived to aid in the search for survivors in the devastated regions.
