Drones Strike Black Sea Ships, Sinking One Off Bulgarian Coast
Prime Minister Rumen Radev calls attacks 'absolutely unacceptable' and seeks NATO and EU assistance.
Drones struck two ships in the Black Sea off the coast of Bulgaria on Tuesday, sinking one vessel and prompting emergency rescue operations, according to Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev.
One crew member from the sunken ship has been rescued, Radev stated early Tuesday. He did not provide further details about other individuals who may have been on board the vessel.
Rescuers successfully evacuated all 15 crew members from the second ship, identified as the Maltese-flagged Chelsea 3. Five of these individuals are receiving treatment for minor injuries, Radev reported.
The Bulgarian Prime Minister condemned the attacks, labeling them "absolutely unacceptable." He announced that Bulgaria would seek assistance from both NATO and the European Union, while noting that the country currently lacks clear evidence to identify those responsible for the strikes.
