At least 27 people were killed and 42 injured, including four children, in an overnight drone strike on the Kyiv region, according to regional governor Tymur Tkachenko. Hundreds of residents were evacuated from the affected areas.

Tkachenko reported a separate attack in the Boryspil district that resulted in the death of a 14-year-old girl, describing it as "another victim of Russian terror."

President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that more than 300 emergency responders were deployed to the strike areas. He also noted additional overnight strikes in the Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia regions. Zelensky emphasized Ukraine's need for international support in defending against such attacks, thanking partners for aid and sanctions against Russia.

The Ukrainian army stated that it had intercepted 233 Russian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) during the night leading into Saturday.

Recent months have seen an intensification of attacks from both Russia and Ukraine, with Kyiv increasingly targeting Russian economic infrastructure. In the preceding 24 hours, Moscow reported strikes on its Belgorod and Rostov regions, with Rostov Governor Yuri Slusar stating that seven people were injured in an attack.
