A drone equipped with an explosive device was discovered at Leipzig/Halle Airport in Germany, authorities reported. The device was found in the airport's cargo operations area during the night, according to Saxony police.

A robot was deployed to handle the situation. Some reports indicate the drone was found near a Ukrainian aircraft. Following the discovery, flights at the airport were initially suspended. One runway has since been reopened, though the second runway was scheduled to remain closed on Wednesday.

In a separate incident, a cargo plane sustained minor damage after a suspected object collided with it shortly after takeoff from the same airport. The aircraft was diverted to Hanover for inspection.

This is a developing story. Further details will be provided as they become available.
