Mathilde Favier, the director of public relations at Christian Dior Couture, died Tuesday in a car accident in Western France. She was 57. Her partner, film producer Nicolas Altmayer, 61, also died in the crash.

Dior released a statement mourning Favier, describing her as an "exceptional woman" who made an "incredible contribution to the reputation of Christian Dior Couture." The statement noted her "communicative joy, talent, and loyalty."

Delphine Arnault, CEO of Dior, remembered Favier as a "loyal friend" and a professional who "loved life with a passion." Arnault added, "With the passing of Mathilde, Dior is losing an incredible professional, and I have lost a loyal friend. Her optimism and courage commanded admiration. We will sorely miss her smile and her talent."
