Delta Flight Evacuated in Tel Aviv After Bomb Threat
A Delta flight from New York was evacuated upon arrival at Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport following a bomb threat, which was later determined to be false.
A Delta flight arriving from New York was evacuated on Tuesday after landing at Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport due to a bomb threat. Passengers were moved into the terminal while investigators searched the Airbus A330.
The threat was ultimately found to be false, and airport operations returned to normal. "The incident has ended with no unusual findings. Operations have returned to normal," an Israel Airports Authority spokesperson told Ynet.
The Delta flight typically operates daily between New York's JFK Airport and Tel Aviv. The flight departed JFK on Monday afternoon and arrived in Tel Aviv on Tuesday morning.
The security incident occurred nearly two weeks after a separate incident on a flight bound for Tel Aviv, where a co-pilot allegedly attacked the pilot and attempted to hijack the plane. It remains unclear how many passengers and crew were aboard the Delta flight during the security scare.
