A couple who drugged men to steal from them has been sentenced to 17 years in prison for the manslaughter of two men and the poisoning of others. Adina Mihai and Madalin Dumitru admitted to the killings and other offenses.

Mihai, who posed as a sex worker, and her partner Dumitru arranged to meet clients at their home. The court heard that they spiked the victims' alcoholic drinks with gamma-butyrolactone (GBL), a powerful sedative, to incapacitate them and steal their belongings. This tactic led to the deaths of Gary Mouat, 36, and Malcolm King, 80, in 2025 and 2024, respectively.

The pair also pleaded guilty to two additional counts of administering poison to other surviving victims. These victims cannot be named due to reporting restrictions.

Mihai and Dumitru received their sentences at Oxford Crown Court. The trial began in June, where the couple entered their guilty pleas. The investigation by Thames Valley Police uncovered the extent of their crimes, which targeted men seeking sexual services advertised online by Mihai.
