Celtic Supporters' Bus Catches Fire After Old Firm Derby Loss

A group of Celtic supporters were evacuated from their coach after it caught fire on the A728 near the Emirates Arena in Glasgow. The incident occurred as fans were traveling home following the Old Firm derby, where Celtic lost 1-0 to Rangers.

Thick black smoke billowed into the sky as emergency services, including two fire engines, arrived at the scene. Police Scotland confirmed that no one was injured during the evacuation. The road, Clyde Gateway, was temporarily brought to a standstill while firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze.

McLean's Coaches, the company from which the bus was hired, issued a statement acknowledging the incident. "We are aware of the incident involving one of our vehicles on the Clyde Gateway today," a spokesperson said. "The vehicle has been recovered, and we are working with the relevant authorities and parties to establish exactly what happened."

The company added that the cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed and declined to speculate further while investigations are ongoing. "Safety is our highest priority, and the vehicle will undergo a full investigation before any further steps are decided," the statement concluded.

The fire marked an unfortunate end to a disappointing day for Celtic fans, who had already seen their team lose to rivals Rangers for the second time in eight days. Ryan Naderi's first-half goal secured the victory for Rangers.
