Two brothers sustained cuts to their feet, legs, and arms when the glass door of a steam room they were using reportedly exploded. The incident occurred in 2022 at a hotel in Turkey where the family was holidaying.
The younger boy, 11, and his 16-year-old brother were inside the steam room when the door shattered. Their father stated that his eldest son rushed into their hotel room, limping and bleeding heavily from cuts on his feet sustained while exiting the spa area. A doctor at the resort provided initial treatment for the boys' injuries.
The traumatic experience caused the family to avoid package holidays for four years, and the children remain anxious about passing through glass doors.
Following the incident, Hudgell Solicitors initiated a claim for damages on behalf of the family. After a ten-month wait for CCTV footage, representatives from Jet2Holidays offered a compensation package, which the family accepted. An attorney for the family described the incident as a terrifying experience and noted that the CCTV footage was difficult to watch, emphasizing how fortunate the brothers were to have avoided more serious injuries.
Jet2Holidays confirmed that a settlement was reached concerning the 2022 incident.
