Police in Malawi are investigating the abduction of Nusrat Osman, a 47-year-old British national, who was seized in the country's main city, Blantyre. The incident occurred around 12:30 local time on Friday when four men traveling in a grey Nissan Dualis took Osman, according to a police statement. The authorities have offered a reward exceeding $17,000 (£12,600) for information that could lead to her safe return and the arrest of those responsible.

Osman, a mother of two young children, was reportedly working for a local auditing firm. Her husband expressed deep distress over her disappearance, stating he had no known conflicts with anyone and was unaware of her whereabouts or condition. Local news outlets have reported on the husband's anguish.

Malawian police have stated that the motive behind the kidnapping remains unknown, and as of the latest reports, the perpetrators have not made contact with Osman's family or the authorities. The UK Foreign Office has been contacted for comment.
