A British woman, Nusrat Osman, 47, was reportedly abducted in broad daylight on Friday in Blantyre, Malawi. Four men in a grey Nissan Dualis are alleged to have seized the mother-of-two around 12:30 p.m. local time.
Malawi authorities have announced a reward of over £12,600 for credible information that could assist in Osman's safe return and lead to the prosecution of those responsible for her kidnapping. Osman, an auditor, was reportedly working for a local firm at the time of the incident.
Her husband told local outlet Nyasa Times that he was unaware of her whereabouts or condition, stating he had no conflicts with anyone. Investigators are reportedly disseminating text messages to the public in an effort to gather leads. The motive behind the abduction is currently unknown, and no contact has been made with Osman's family or authorities by the perpetrators. The UK Foreign Office has been contacted for comment.
