Colin Alexander Ross, 56, from Elgin, Scotland, has gone missing while on holiday in Rome with his fiancée, Annabella Mcallister. The couple arrived in the Italian capital on Friday, August 14, for what was intended to be a 'dream trip.'
Mr. Ross disappeared around 10 p.m. on Friday evening near the Pantheon Roman temple in Piazza della Rotonda. Ms. Mcallister stated that Mr. Ross, who was wearing a red Adidas T-shirt and black shorts, had no wallet or phone with him at the time.
According to Ms. Mcallister, Mr. Ross was in "a bit of an unsteady state due to medication and heat." She last saw him on a side street near the Pantheon as she was attempting to take a photograph. By the time she followed him, he had vanished.
Ms. Mcallister expressed concern that Mr. Ross might have forgotten the name of their hotel, the Marcella Royal Hotel, which is approximately 3.6 kilometers from where he was last seen. She has made a public appeal on Facebook for assistance from the public in Rome.
She described Mr. Ross as 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing around 70 kilograms, with fair hair. He was wearing a red Adidas-style T-shirt, black shorts, and black earrings. He has an earring in his left ear and was wearing a black watch and bracelet on his left wrist.
Ms. Mcallister indicated that police are involved in the search, but as of Sunday, August 16, there had been no sightings reported. She stated that all police and agencies are involved, though she had not received an update from the police on Sunday.
