Construction for Therme Manchester, a new £500 million water wonderland, has reached a significant milestone with the erection of the first of 12 tower cranes. The resort, slated for completion by late 2028, is anticipated to draw 1.7 million visitors annually and aims to be the UK's first urban wellbeing resort.

The project, covering an area equivalent to 28 football pitches, will offer a tropical environment with temperatures maintained at 33C (91F). Visitors can expect more than 25 waterslides, a wave pool, and an outdoor beach. The resort's design emphasizes an immersive experience combining water, nature, and relaxation, catering to all ages with a mix of family-friendly attractions and areas for unwinding.

Beyond the water attractions, Therme Manchester will include saunas, steam rooms, botanical gardens, and diverse dining options, with choices for both families and adults. The resort's offerings are centered around three core pillars: play, relax, and restore. This includes next-generation waterslides, warm water pools, steam rooms, and red-light therapy lounging areas. A dedicated adults-only zone is planned for rest and rejuvenation, featuring spa therapies and health and wellbeing consultations.

The company has stated that while pricing details are not yet released, a range of ticket options for various budgets will be available. The Instagram update highlighting the crane erection signifies the commencement of an active construction phase, with the cranes set to be instrumental in realizing the resort's vision. The company has described the development as building "something extraordinary."
