Gwent Police have charged a 14-year-old boy with murder in connection with the disappearance of a girl in the Blaenau Gwent area. The body of a female was discovered in Duffryn Park, Blaina, on Monday, during the search for Lilly, a 14-year-old girl who had been reported missing.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested following the discovery of the body. He remains in police custody and is scheduled to appear before Newport Magistrates Court on Friday.

Police have stated that while the body has not been formally identified, they believe it to be that of Lilly. "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Lilly at this difficult time," said Detective Chief Inspector Steven Thomas. Police continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
