Two passenger planes were inspected in Warsaw after landing with bomb threats, one of which led to the brief closure of the city's Modlin airport. A flight from London Heathrow, operated by Polish flag carrier LOT, carrying 181 people was alerted en route to Warsaw's main Chopin airport and landed at Modlin.
Shortly after, a second flight from Copenhagen, also bound for Chopin airport, reported a bomb threat, Danish media reported. This SAS plane landed as scheduled, according to reports. Warsaw Modlin airport confirmed that air operations had resumed after a Boeing 737 Max aircraft, which had landed at 10:01 local time, was checked by authorities.
Chopin airport reported that one of its runways was temporarily closed but that operations were not significantly impacted. These incidents follow a Wizz Air flight from London Luton to Sofia, Bulgaria, which made an emergency landing in Hungary after a bomb threat. Security checks on that flight found no explosives.
