Bollywood Actor Tiger Shroff Unharmed After Mumbai Shooting
Indian police are investigating the incident where multiple shots were fired at the actor's vehicle.
Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff was the target of a shooting incident in Mumbai on Sunday evening but sustained no gunshot wounds, according to Indian police. The actor was in a car leaving a football club in the Juhu suburb when the attack occurred.
Video footage published by several news outlets appears to show at least two gunmen firing multiple shots at the car from close range as it moved slowly past a crowd. The incident has raised concerns about the safety of public figures in India, a country that has seen targeted attacks resulting in deaths and injuries in recent years.
"These attempts to intimidate people will not be tolerated, and we will put an end to this hooliganism," said Eknath Shinde, deputy chief minister of Maharashtra state, where Mumbai is located. Shinde visited Shroff and his mother after the shooting, noting that they were left "shaken" by the event. Police reported that two individuals, including Shroff's driver, were injured during the shooting.
This shooting is the latest in a series of attacks against prominent public figures in India. In 2024, two individuals were arrested for a gun attack on the home of Bollywood actor Salman Khan. In the same year, influential Indian politician Baba Siddique was fatally shot in Mumbai.
Tiger Shroff, the son of two actors, made his film debut in 2014 with the romance film Heropanti and has since appeared in several other movies. He is also known for his involvement in football and plays for the professional club Mumbay FC.
