Body Found in Search for Missing Teenager Kristijonas Demcenko
Authorities have discovered a body in Mugdock Country Park during the search for a 17-year-old boy last seen on Monday.
A body has been found in the search for Kristijonas Demcenko, a 17-year-old who went missing on Monday afternoon in Milngavie, Scotland.
Kristijonas was last seen at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Monday at the junction of Mugdock Road and Douglas Street. CCTV footage showed him walking in the direction of Mugdock Road car park. He was wearing a black jacket, black jeans, and black trainers with white soles, and was carrying a black bag.
A search was initiated after he was reported missing on the same day. The discovery of a body in Mugdock Country Park, north of Milngavie, was made on Friday, four days after Kristijonas was last seen.
Police Scotland confirmed that while formal identification is pending, Kristijonas's family has been informed of the discovery. Authorities stated that the death is not being treated as suspicious.
Prior to the discovery, police had appealed to the public for assistance, asking residents to check dashcam and doorbell footage for any sightings. Local residents were also asked to check sheds and outbuildings for any signs of the teenager.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland stated, "On Friday, October 16, we received a report of the body of a man having been found in the Mugdock Country Park area of Milngavie. Formal identification is yet to take place however, the family of 17-year-old Kristijonas Demcenko, who had been reported missing from Glasgow, have been made aware. The death is not being treated as suspicious, and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course."
