The bodies of five missing French fishermen have been recovered after their vessel sank off the coast of Plymouth in the United Kingdom. The five-man crew had issued a distress call at approximately 18:00 BST on August 29th.

A nearby fishing boat, the Stradale, managed to rescue three of the crew members before the Maranello went down. The search for the remaining crew involved joint UK and French rescue teams operating in the waters southwest of the Eddystone Lighthouse.

Poor weather conditions reportedly delayed dives to the sunken vessel after it was located. The Maranello sank after reporting issues with its fishing gear. The exact cause of the sinking remains under investigation.
