Bangkok Declared Disaster Zone as Heavy Rains Cause Widespread Flooding

Bangkok has been declared a disaster-affected zone following days of continuous heavy rainfall that have caused extensive flooding across the Thai capital. Governor Chadchart Sittipunt announced the declaration after nearly 300 millimeters (11.8 inches) of rain fell in the region, with further precipitation expected in the coming days.

Videos circulating from Bangkok depict submerged roads where cars are struggling to navigate the rising waters, with some vehicles appearing to be stranded. The persistent downpours have led to widespread inundation across the city.
