A devastating fire swept through a Bangkok bar on Friday, killing at least 27 people and injuring several others, according to Thai authorities. The blaze erupted just after midnight local time at a popular entertainment venue and restaurant in the Chatuchak District.

Firefighters responded quickly and were able to bring the flames under control within half an hour. Patrons were seen fleeing the building as it became engulfed in fire. Unverified footage captured flames erupting from the bar as people attempted to escape the inferno.

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul confirmed the death toll at the scene, stating that the cause of the fire is still under investigation. Images from inside the bar after the fire were extinguished revealed extensive charring and damage, with the ceiling significantly degraded.

Reports indicate that a number of people remain unaccounted for following the incident. The venue is known as a popular spot for entertainment and dining in the area.
