Shaker Heights, Ohio — Local and federal authorities are searching for 31-year-old Madalyn Marshall after she disappeared following a short grocery trip and her car was later found on an Interstate 90 exit ramp with the door open and the keys in the ignition, police said.
Marshall was reported missing by her husband, Colin, on Tuesday when she did not return home. According to police, she had given birth about a week before her disappearance.
Officers with the FBI, the Shaker Heights Police Department, Cleveland police, Metro Parks and the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office joined the search, which at one point covered roadside and nearby parkland areas. Shaker Heights Police Chief Wayne D. Hudson said the community is "deeply concerned for Madalyn’s well-being" and that "our priority is ensuring her safe return to her family.”
Authorities said the vehicle was located on an exit ramp off I-90 some time after Marshall was reported missing. The vehicle was found with the door left open and keys inside, according to police statements. No trace of Marshall has been located at the scene or in the immediate search area.
Shaker Heights Police Commander John Cole said in an update that search efforts were temporarily suspended while investigators continue to interview family members and friends to piece together Marshall’s movements. The update was reported by local station Cleveland19.
According to Marshall’s social media profiles, she works as a medical device account executive at CCS Medical. Police have not released additional details about Marshall’s personal condition or whether foul play is suspected and asked the public to avoid speculation as the investigation continues.
Anyone with information about Marshall’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Shaker Heights Police Department at (216) 491-1220. Authorities urged anyone who may have dashcam, surveillance footage or other information relevant to Marshall’s movements on Tuesday to come forward.
Investigators are continuing interviews and searches in the Shaker Heights area and surrounding communities. The investigation remains active and developing, and police have said updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
