A father in Werribee, Australia, was hospitalized with facial injuries after a home invasion where he was allegedly attacked with a sword by two teenagers. The incident occurred on September 7, 2026, when the two youths are accused of entering the family's home via the garage.

Gof Sritanaamorn was reportedly asleep with his wife when the teenagers allegedly scaled a fence and smashed their way into the residence. Their seven-year-old daughter was sleeping nearby.

According to Sritanaamorn, the intruders demanded car keys and attempted to enter his wife's room. He intervened to protect his family and was subsequently slashed across the face. "They try to attack me and then they ask for the car keys," Sritanaamorn stated from his hospital bed. "My wife was looking for the car key and that’s when they used the knife to slash my face."

The teenagers allegedly took the keys to the family's Mazda but were unable to start it, reportedly spending over 20 minutes attempting to operate the vehicle. "The boys were fighting because they couldn’t get the car started," said Sritanaamorn's wife, Maynie Pechwong. "They don’t know how to drive."

According to Sritanaamorn, the youths returned and demanded his assistance to start the car so they could flee. He complied, and police arrived shortly thereafter to apprehend one of the suspects. The other allegedly attempted to escape.

CCTV footage captured a police officer and a neighbor confronting one of the teenagers. The neighbor reportedly assisted in detaining the suspect with a baseball bat before the boy allegedly broke free and was later apprehended. "I’m lucky I have my neighbor to help," Pechwong said. "If I didn’t have my neighbor helping us, I don’t know what would’ve happened. Maybe my husband would die."

The two accused teenagers, aged 15 and 14, were reportedly on bail at the time of the incident. The 15-year-old had appeared in Children's Court just hours before the alleged attack. Both have been remanded in custody, with the younger boy expected to apply for bail. Sritanaamorn remained hospitalized awaiting a CT scan for his non-life-threatening injuries.
