At least 12 people died and dozens more are missing after a vessel carrying traders capsized on Lake Kivu in eastern Congo on Saturday night. The accident occurred in the Idjwi territory of South Kivu province.
Authorities reported that approximately 15 people have been rescued from the waters. The vessel was reportedly carrying more than 50 individuals when it overturned. The cause of the capsizing remains unclear.
