Zoo Atlanta Welcomes Giant Pandas Following U.S.-China Summit Announcement

Zoo Atlanta has officially welcomed a pair of giant pandas, Ping Ping and Fu Shuang, after their arrival from southwest China's Sichuan Province. The pandas' journey concluded with a farewell ceremony at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding before Zoo Atlanta staff took custody.

This transfer follows an announcement made by Chinese President Xi Jinping during a summit with U.S. President Trump in Washington. The event signifies a continuation of long-standing wildlife protection cooperation between the United States and China.
