Los Angeles Lakers forward Ziaire Williams recently marked a significant personal milestone by proposing to his long-time girlfriend, Paris Timan, during a Bruno Mars concert at SoFi Stadium. The proposal occurred on the second night of Mars's five-night residency, as the singer performed his hit song "Marry You."
As the music played and confetti fell, Williams, who has yet to play a game for the Lakers, got down on one knee to propose to Timan. The moment was broadcast on the stadium's jumbotron, and the newly engaged couple was seen celebrating enthusiastically. SoFi Stadium later shared a video of the proposal on social media, captioning it, "It really was a beautiful night 🥹."
Timan, a fashion and commercial model, has been in a relationship with Williams for several years. Their engagement comes as Williams prepares for his upcoming season with the Lakers, having signed a one-year deal worth $15 million over the offseason.
Williams has had a varied career trajectory in the NBA. Originally a top-10 pick out of Stanford, his draft rights were initially held by the New Orleans Pelicans before being traded to the Memphis Grizzlies. He spent three seasons with the Grizzlies before being traded to the Brooklyn Nets in 2024. Last season, his playing time was limited to 13 games due to a back injury sustained from a fall in October.
