Zendaya Cheers on Golden State Valkyries in WNBA Finals Game 5
The actor attended the game with her niece, donning team apparel and cheering from the stands.
Actor Zendaya showed her support for the Golden State Valkyries during Game 5 of the WNBA Finals against the Atlanta Dream. An Oakland native, Zendaya was in attendance with her niece, wearing a Golden State playoff shirt and using the team's purple noisemakers, often called "boomsticks," at the Ball Arena.
Following the Valkyries' 64-55 victory on Monday night, which brought them within one win of a championship, Zendaya posed for photos with the team and coaching staff. Gabby Williams shared a picture with the two-time Emmy winner.
The Valkyries' potential championship win on Thursday presents logistical challenges. If Golden State secures the title at State Farm Arena, the celebration might need to be relocated due to a scheduling conflict with a Hawks NBA matchup. The Hawks have reportedly agreed to move their game against the Cavaliers to an earlier time, but the tight turnaround between the WNBA Finals' early tip-off and the NBA game may necessitate alternative arrangements for a championship ceremony.
