Zelensky Vows to Resume Strikes on Russian Oil Refineries, Defying Trump
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced Ukraine will restart attacks on Russian oil facilities after accusing Moscow of violating a US-backed ceasefire.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky declared that Ukraine will resume strikes on Russian oil refineries, directly defying a ban implemented by President Trump. This decision follows accusations that Russia repeatedly violated the terms of a US-backed energy ceasefire.
“The block is out. We’re done,” Zelensky stated during a visit to London, as reported by the Financial Times. The Ukrainian president expressed frustration that his country had observed the ceasefire for three days while Moscow continued to launch extensive attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
According to Zelensky, Russia carried out more than 100 attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities in the past week, despite the temporary halt in Ukrainian strikes. He characterized Russia's actions as a persistent disregard for the energy truce brokered with US involvement.
