Grammy Award-winning musician and producer Zedd is set to make an appearance in the upcoming second season of Prime Video's college comedy "Overcompensating." Creator and star Benito Skinner announced the news at the streaming service's Obsessed Fest in Los Angeles.

Skinner, joined by castmates Mary Beth Barone, Wally Baram, and Owen Thiele, revealed that the new season will include a spring break episode. "We do have a spring break episode," Skinner stated. "And I was thinking about kind of the time period that inspired this show, so we do have a special guest, and it’s Zedd. We have Zedd for spring break, so we’ll be playing ‘Clarity.'"

The show's setting in the 2010s was a point of discussion during its first season. The inclusion of Zedd and his 2012 hit song "Clarity," featuring Foxes, helps to establish a more specific timeframe for the season, confirming it cannot be set earlier than 2012.

Skinner teased that the spring break episode will draw inspiration from the disastrous Fyre Festival. "I can’t tell you where he plays it [the song], but it’s a little bit inspired by Fyre Festival. I’m so excited for you guys," Skinner said. The Fyre Festival, a failed luxury music event in 2017, left thousands of attendees stranded due to inadequate planning.

"Overcompensating" Season 1 is currently available for streaming on Prime Video. A release date for Season 2 has not yet been announced.
