Royal family friend Dolly Maude, Princess Anne's lady-in-waiting, joined Zara Tindall at the William Hill Showcase Meeting.
Zara Tindall and her close friend Dolly Maude attended the final day of The William Hill Showcase Meeting at Cheltenham Racecourse on Saturday, navigating the event under an umbrella amidst rainy weather.
Dolly Maude, who has been connected to the royal family for years and served as Princess Anne's lady-in-waiting since 2024, has a long-standing friendship with Tindall. Maude famously assisted in the delivery of Tindall's third child, Lucas, in 2021. Their friendship spans over two decades, with both sharing a love for horses.
The pair grew close and briefly lived together in 2003 after Tindall's relationship with jockey Richard Johnson ended. Tindall and Johnson had dated from 1998. Following this, Tindall's friendship with former rugby union player Mike Tindall developed into a romance in 2004.
Maude was the maid of honor at Zara and Mike Tindall's wedding in 2011 and has been present for the births of their three children: Mia, Lena, and Lucas. Mike Tindall has referred to Maude as being 'more important than I am' due to her role in assisting Zara during Lucas's birth. Maude is married to former jockey Chris Maude and resides near Tindall in the Cotswolds.
