Zach LaVine's Wife Responds to Reporters' 'Hot Mic' Comments

Hunter LaVine, wife of Sacramento Kings guard Zach LaVine, has responded to comments made by two reporters who were overheard on a hot mic discussing her husband's appearance and personality. The incident occurred during the Kings' media day on Monday.

One reporter was heard saying of LaVine, "Hella fine!" but added, "I mean, his personality annoys the s*** out of me, so that’s what makes him less fine." The other reporter chimed in, "Zach is cute, but his personality f****** annoys me. He just seems like he’s hella, like a p****… He’s beautiful."

The remarks, which also touched upon teammate Ben Simmons, quickly gained traction online, drawing criticism toward the unidentified reporters. Neither Zach LaVine nor Ben Simmons have publicly commented on the hot mic incident.

Hunter LaVine, however, took to Instagram to address the situation. She initially commented on a post featuring the hot mic video, stating, "a great start to the season!" She also shared the video to her Instagram story with a series of laughing emojis.

The following day, she posted a photo of her husband from media day, captioned, "I love my husband’s personality 😚," a direct response to the reporters' criticism of his perceived personality.

Zach LaVine exercised his $49 million player option for the 2026–27 season with the Kings in June. The Kings play their home games at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California.
