Zach Bryan's Drummer Wears Pro-Palestine Jersey at Gillette Stadium
Drummer Nate Head honored 5-year-old Hind Rajab with a jersey bearing her name and number, while Bryan wore a 'Free Palestine' shirt.
Zach Bryan's drummer, Nate Head, joined the singer in making a pro-Palestinian statement during a concert at Robert Kraft's Gillette Stadium. Head performed wearing a white-and-tan striped Palestine soccer jersey emblazoned with "Hind Rajab" and the number 5 on the back.
Hind Rajab was a 5-year-old Palestinian girl who died in Gaza in January 2024. Bryan himself took the stage wearing a black T-shirt that read "Free Palestine," accompanied by an image of a pine tree and the words "An Appeal to Heaven."
Bryan's guitarist, Noah Le Gros, also expressed support by wearing a green Palestine soccer jersey during the performance. The concert on Friday was the first of a two-night engagement at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, as part of the final leg of Bryan's "With Heaven on Tour."
This incident follows a similar controversy at the same venue approximately one month prior. Robert Kraft had reportedly barred rapper Macklemore from performing at Gillette Stadium after the artist made pro-Palestinian remarks during Ed Sheeran's "Loop Tour." During a September concert in New Jersey, Macklemore called for a "Free Palestine" and performed his song "Hind's Hall," named after Rajab.
Following Macklemore's removal from the tour and subsequent withdrawals by other opening acts in solidarity, Sheeran's scheduled Gillette Stadium concerts were canceled due to severe weather warnings. In the aftermath, Kraft pledged $2 million toward Palestinian relief efforts, stating that Sheeran had encouraged the donation. He added that Sheeran intended to collaborate with other venue owners to "build bridges."
