The Voice Australia concluded its season on Sunday night with Northern Territory rapper Yung Milla taking home the championship title and a $100,000 cash prize. The win also includes an all-inclusive artist development and recording package.

Yung Milla, 23, who is based in Darwin, expressed his gratitude following the announcement. "I just can't believe it, I'm just so grateful," he said. "Thank you so much, Mel, you've made me stronger as a person, and as an artist." He dedicated his victory to his Indigenous community, adding, "I'm doing it for my people."

His coach, Spice Girls member Mel C, became emotional as she praised Yung Milla's journey. "I think I've run out of words," she stated, visibly moved. "You've affected me, obviously, and everybody who's been in a room with you, everybody at home. I'm just so proud, and you did this. You did it!"

The Darwin rapper, whose given name is Levi Colin Nichaloff, triumphed over fellow finalists Tommy Novak, The 60Four, and Daisha Auda. Fifteen-year-old Daisha had performed Janet Jackson's "Together Again" with the singer's personal approval.

During the finale, Yung Milla performed a duet with Mel C, singing her 1999 hit "Never Be the Same Again." Mel C also appeared as a backing vocalist for Kate Miller-Heidke's new song "Butterflies."

While many viewers celebrated Yung Milla's win, the outcome drew criticism from some on social media. Detractors suggested the result was predictable and "scripted by the producers," with one commenter on X stating, "The only person who could not sing, rap, dance, perform or entertain won the Voice Australia." Another viewer felt that Daisha possessed the strongest voice among the finalists.

Conversely, supporters of Yung Milla expressed delight. "Well done to Yung Milla. He is an incredible artist and I'm very happy he won," wrote one fan, while another commented, "Yesss! Well done Straya, you voted right! This kid is something else."
