British YouTuber and musician Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, also known as Yung Filly, has pleaded not guilty to six charges of sexually penetrating a 20-year-old woman without consent and other assault charges stemming from an incident in a Perth hotel room in September 2024. Barrientos, 30, is also denying charges of impeding the woman's breathing by applying pressure to her neck and three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm.
During his trial, Barrientos told the West Australian District Court that he met the woman at a nightclub called Bar1 after his performance. He stated that the woman approached him, and he found her energy to be good. The woman previously testified that Barrientos had touched her inappropriately at the nightclub, but Barrientos denied these claims, stating he only recalled putting his hand on her waist.
Barrientos recounted inviting the woman back to his hotel, saying, "Do you want to come home with me?" He denied giving her tequila shots, asserting that the bar manager distributed them. CCTV footage presented in court showed Barrientos and others leaving the nightclub and the woman following them into a minivan. Barrientos did not recall specific conversations during the drive to the Intercontinental hotel.
Further CCTV footage from the hotel displayed Barrientos and the woman entering a lift with his entourage. Barrientos testified that they went to his room together, describing the interaction as having "good vibes." He acknowledged that the woman's phone was taken from her, explaining that it is "standard practice for someone in the limelight to protect privacy." The trial is ongoing.
